Improve Patient Outcomes With ZICOH
ZICOH is an electronic, dose-controlled medication delivery system that works seamlessly through the medication supply chain from the manufacturer to the patient to provide a fully integrated solution to prescription drug abuse. The patented ZICOH device is able to dispense tablets, capsules, or liquids as needed to facilitate patient compliance and provider oversight.
ZICOH's Key Features
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) acknowledged that it believed ZICOH qualified for a patent.
The USPTO granted ZICOH technology its first patent (No. 11,083,850), recognizing ZICOH as a dose control-controlled medication delivery device
One week later, ZICOH technology received its second patent (No. US 11,090,449), securing ZICOH's rights as a smart inhaler device featuring automated dose delivery, measurement, and management of medications.
ZICOH Receives Allowance For Third US Patent
ZICOH receives a US patent allowance that will grant the device rights as a secure, smart dosing system with automated delivery, measurement, and management for pills.

A Patient-Centric Solution to Some of the Nation's Biggest Health Challenges
The Opioid Crisis
The opioid crisis refers to the increasing number of deaths and hospitalizations resulting from opioid use. Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that over 93,000 people died from a drug overdose in the U.S. in 2020. Many of these deaths involved opioids. With features like dose-controlled delivery, ZICOH makes it nearly impossible to misuse prescription opioids.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), about 50 percent of patients do not take their medications as prescribed. Research shows that medication nonadherence significantly affects patient outcomes and accounts for a notable portion of treatment failures, deaths, and hospitalizations. ZICOH removes several barriers to medication compliance.
According to WHO, chronic respiratory diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), account for nearly 8.3 percent of chronic diseases, leading to over 4 million deaths each year. Because of the increased prevalence of respiratory diseases, there is also an increase in the demand for inhalable medications and inhaler devices like ZICOH.
Secure and Easy to Use
The ZICOH system requires fingerprint access and is programmed according to the provider’s orders. Dosage type, amount, and frequency are pre-set by the pharmacist, and the device increases patient compliance and decreases the rate of abuse by providing digital reminders. Providers can monitor patient usage and compliance in real-time, allowing for seamless communication with the patient and enhancing existing treatment protocols.
ZICOH’s special cartridges contain proprietary technology that enables the device to identify and access the prescription information for appropriate dosing. ZICOH and its drug cartridges may only be obtained via prescription from a patient’s physician and have unique, traceable serial numbers registered to the patient to ensure patient compliance and mitigate the potential for misuse.
